Many first-time owners starting out in the holiday rental business are unaware that they have an obligation to complete the Traveler Registration process with the National Police or the relevant authorities.

Royal Decree 933/2021 , from the Ministry of the Interior, establishes the obligation for individuals and legal entities engaged in accommodation activities to maintain documentary records of guests. Currently, guest registration is not possible on the National Police's accommodation platform due to the implementation of Royal Decree 933/2021 .

In Spain, the traveler registration form must be completed by all guests, regardless of age. The form must conform to the model included in the Annex to Order INT/1922/2003 .
This information must be reported to the National Police. If the municipality where the accommodation is located does not have a National Police force, guest registration must be done at a Civil Guard hostel .
Each host must collect the traveler's information in the traveler registration book, and then report it to the appropriate security forces.
